Alcohol Sales and Delivery Policy
Last reviewed: 25 August 2026. Atlas Market holds Victorian Liquor Licence No. 36314952. This policy applies to all alcohol sold or delivered by Atlas Market.
1. Minimum age
Alcohol is sold only to people aged 18 years or older. We will not sell alcohol to anyone under 18, and we will not deliver alcohol to anyone under 18.
Warning
Under the Liquor Control Reform Act 1998 it is an offence to supply alcohol to a person under 18 years (penalty exceeds $24,000) and for a person under 18 years to purchase or receive alcohol (penalty exceeds $1,000).
2. Age confirmation at purchase
Before any alcohol product can be added to your bag you must confirm that you are 18 years or older. This confirmation is recorded against your order and is retained as part of our records.
Confirming your age at the point of order does not remove the need for identification on delivery. See section 4.
3. Gift recipients
Where alcohol is sent as a gift, the purchaser must also confirm that the recipient is 18 years or older, and must acknowledge that the alcohol will only be handed to a person aged 18 or older at the delivery address.
We record the recipient's name and delivery address for every alcohol gift order. Our driver is instructed to verify the age of the person accepting the delivery by sighting an acceptable evidence-of-age document.
4. Acceptable identification
We accept the following as evidence of age:
- Australian driver licence (physical or digital)
- Victorian learner permit (physical or digital)
- Foreign driver licence with a certified English translation, or an International Driving Permit
- Victorian proof of age card or interstate equivalent (physical or digital)
- Keypass card
- Australian or foreign passport
- Victorian marine licence
Photographs or photocopies of identification documents are not accepted.
5. First-time customer deliveries
If this is your first alcohol order with us, the delivery must be made to the person who placed the order, and that person must produce acceptable identification confirming they are 18 or older. First-time alcohol deliveries cannot be left unattended.
6. Gift deliveries
Alcohol gift deliveries must be handed to the recipient, or to another person aged 18 or older at the delivery address, who may be asked to produce acceptable identification. Alcohol gift deliveries are never left unattended.
7. Same-day delivery
Where same-day alcohol delivery is offered, the delivery must be handed to a person. It cannot be left unattended in any circumstances, including where a safe-drop instruction has previously been given.
8. Delivery hours
We deliver alcohol between 9am and 11pm Monday to Saturday, and between 10am and 11pm on Sunday. Alcohol is not delivered on Good Friday or Christmas Day. On ANZAC Day, alcohol is delivered between 12 noon and 11pm.
9. Unattended delivery
Unattended delivery of alcohol is only permitted where all of the following apply: you are an existing customer, the order is not a gift, the order is not a same-day delivery, and you have given us an authorised safe-drop instruction. In every other case the delivery must be handed to an eligible person.
10. Refusal of delivery
Our drivers are instructed to refuse delivery of alcohol where:
- the person accepting the delivery is under 18;
- acceptable identification cannot be produced when requested;
- the person accepting the delivery appears to be intoxicated; or
- there is a substantial risk that the intended recipient is intoxicated.
Our drivers are not required to justify a refusal, and a refusal is final. Refusals are recorded against the order, including the date, time, postcode and reason.
11. Intoxicated recipients
We will not supply alcohol to a person who is intoxicated. Where a driver forms the view that the recipient is intoxicated, or that there is a substantial risk that the intended recipient is intoxicated, the alcohol will not be handed over.
12. Failed delivery and redelivery
Where an alcohol delivery cannot be completed, the order is returned to our facility. We will contact you to arrange redelivery or a refund.
13. Click and collect
Where collection is offered, the person collecting an order containing alcohol must produce acceptable identification confirming they are 18 or older. We will not release alcohol to a person who is under 18, who cannot produce identification, or who appears to be intoxicated.
14. Permitted delivery locations
We deliver alcohol to residential and business addresses within our Victorian delivery zones. We do not deliver alcohol to schools, licensed premises without prior arrangement, public parks or other public places, or to any address where we have reason to believe the recipient is under 18.
15. Responsible consumption
Atlas Market supports the responsible service and consumption of alcohol. Please drink responsibly. If you or someone you know needs support with alcohol use, contact DirectLine Victoria on 1800 888 236, available 24 hours.
16. Records and enquiries
We retain records of alcohol orders, age confirmations, and delivery outcomes, including failed deliveries and the reasons for refusal, as required by our licence conditions.
